Money Printer Guide — Passive Cash Farm

Money printers are the dominant passive income method for civilians — buy them, place them in an apartment, and cash accumulates while you play (or AFK). This guide covers the full loop: the safe route in, the numbers, and how to avoid losing printers to raids.

How money printers work

  1. Cross the border legally at the checkpoint first.
  2. Enter the smuggling tunnel — pay the Tunnel Man entry fee (about $500, community-reported).
  3. Buy printers from the tunnel dealer. Standard printers cost $20,000 each. Since the August 16 update (V4852) there is a dedicated money printer dealer inside the tunnel, plus a new printer boost item.
  4. Place printers inside your rented apartment — they generate cash while placed.
  5. Collect periodically. Community testing reports roughly $293 every 5 seconds per printer — treat that as a ballpark, not a contract, since the developers tune the economy in biweekly patches.

Printers carried across the border without a legal checkpoint visit trigger a roughly 90% detection rate (community-reported). The safe loop is always:

Legal crossing → tunnel → buy printers → carry them back through the checkpoint legally → place in apartment.

Robux printers have protection

If you bought the Super Money Printer developer product (64 Robux) and it gets confiscated, the official change-log (V4652) guarantees:

“When robux money printers are confiscated, they are now returned to your inventory after 24 hours. If you have lost any robux money printers you can open a ticket and you will receive it back for free.”

Cash-bought printers have no such guarantee — police confiscation (~$10,000 bounty per bust for the officer) is a real loss.

Staying safe from raids

  • Police can obtain warrants and raid apartments to confiscate printers.
  • Since V4669, confiscated printers no longer show on border scanners or to K9s — but active ones can still be found in raids.
  • Keep a low profile: don’t lead police back to your building, and don’t brag in chat.

How many printers can you run?

The exact cap has never been published by the developers. Community videos show apartments running multiple printers side by side — verify the current limit in-game before investing your whole balance.

Printer math (rough)

At the community-reported rate, one standard printer pays back its $20,000 cost in under 6 minutes of active printing. Even if the real rate is several times slower after patches, printers remain the best passive income in the game — which is exactly why they’re the most-targeted asset by police raids.

Tips

  • Join servers with 20+ law enforcement officers — civilian income scales with active authority count (V4659), maxing at 20 officers.
  • Don’t AFK overnight with your whole bank in cash — death drops up to $5,000.
  • Watch the change-log — printer rates, boost items and confiscation rules have all been adjusted within single patches. Our updates page tracks every confirmed change.
